Product Name |
Anti-V5 Tag Mouse Monoclonal Antibody |
Aliases |
V5-tag; GKPIPNPLLGLDST epitope tag; GKPIPNPLLGLDST tag; Protein Rev; Regulator of expression of viral proteins; rev; V5 epitope tag |
Background |
The V5-tag is a short, artificial peptide sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) derived from a small epitope present in the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus simian virus 5 (SV5). It is genetically engineered and fused to either the N-terminus or C-terminus of a recombinant protein of interest, primarily serving as an epitope tag. Unlike affinity tags like the His-tag, its main purpose is not purification but rather highly specific detection and localization. |
