Anti-VSV-G Tag Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody |
Aliases |
Vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein tag; VSV epitope tag; VSV tag; VSV-G epitope tag; VSVG; vsvg tag; VSV-G-Tag |
Background |
The VSV-G-tag is a short peptide sequence derived from the Glycoprotein of the Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (VSV), a rhabdovirus. Typically, an 11-amino acid epitope (YTDIEMNRLGK) from the extracellular domain of the full-length VSV-G protein is used as the tag. It is genetically fused to the N- or C-terminus of a recombinant protein, functioning primarily as a highly specific epitope tag for detection purposes. Unlike smaller tags (e.g., His-tag), it retains some structural features of the viral glycoprotein. |
